Crypta Labs are very pleased to announce that Dr Mayeul d’Avezac has been appointed as the Head of Research and Software for their Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG). He joins the company from UCL’s Research Software Development Group.
Dr d’Avezac holds a PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics. He spent 7 years at the USA’s National Renewable Energy Lab, where he researched using artificial intelligence to find new materials that could be used in solar energy. He later joined University College London as a Research Software Engineer where he worked with various research teams; with Radio Astronomers translating radio signals from stars and galaxies into pictures, with Bio-physicists researching blood flow simulation in the retina, with Pharmacologists, analysing single channel experiments and with Physicists working on simulating the interaction of light with arrays of nanoparticles.
Statement from Crypta Labs’ CEO, Joe HQ Luong:
“We are thrilled to have Dr Mayeul d’Avezac join our ever-growing team of in-house expertise. Dr d’Avezac joins us at a critical time, as we are transitioning from a phase of Research and Development into a commercial phase, meaning we are starting to integrate our technology with clients. Mayuel’s deep scientific understanding of software will be an invaluable resource to Crypta Labs.”
Statement from newly appointed Head of Research and Software Dr Mayeul d’Avezac:
“I am extremely pleased to have taken up this position, I know it will be a challenging appointment, however the technical skills and past experience I have acquired will put me in a steadfast position to work with the quantum information theoretic background which underpins Crypta Lab’s approach, as well as the specialist technical skills required to attain the right kind of random numbers”.
