Crypta Labs takes part in United Kingdom Trade & Industry (UKTI) FinTech ‘mission’ to San Francisco
Mobile security startup, Crypta Labs, joined a select group of British-based FinTech companies on a UK Trade & Industry led ‘mission’ to San Francisco this week.
The mission was an opportunity to;
- increase brand awareness in the financial services industry
- represent the UK as the world’s leader in FinTech innovation
- network/pitch to senior executives in banking, technology and venture capital
- learn from industry insiders about raising money and doing business in San Francisco
Visiting San Francisco, and the diverse FinTech cluster of Silicon Valley, gave Crypta Labs an opportunity to learn about the key drivers for innovation in this area as well as a chance to grow within the ecosystem through networking. Over the course of the mission, Crypta Labs took part in a packed itinerary of events and pitch opportunities. Along with UKTI officials, Crypta Labs met with venture capitalists and financial services industry leaders, including those from the financial giants of Wells Fargo and Silicon Valley Bank.
The three-day trip was entirely organised by UKTI, a UK Government agency which works to “enhance the competitiveness of companies in Britain through overseas trade and investments; and attract a continuing high level of quality foreign direct investment”.
UKTI representative, Shaul David, who travelled with the group, said of the mission, “The UK FinTech sector has developed phenomenally in the last few years. UKTI continues to support the long term sustainability of the sector and we are delighted to have offered six of the most exciting British companies, including Crypta Labs, an opportunity to pitch to, and learn from, the Silicon Valley venture capital industry. Access to growth capital is one of the challenges highlighted by the recent EY fintech benchmarking report and this mission is the first step to overcome that challenge”.
Crypta Labs CEO, Joe Luong, said of Crypta Labs’ inclusion on the trip “’London is the European FinTech capital of Europe (if not the world) and it is an absolute privilege to have represented all of what’s best about the UK FinTech scene – we are delighted to have been a part of the UKTI FinTech trade mission to San Francisco”.
